| time, the expert staff at the Stables at Koele will select a horse suited to your riding ability and provide knowledgeable guides to further enhance your Lana`i adventure. Enjoy our Paniolo Trail Ride Package - a two hour escape into the hills surrounding Koele, once the center of ranching operations on the island. The trail leads you through guava groves and patches of ironwood trees, offering glimpses of axis deer, quail, wild turkeys and Santa Gertrudis cattle. You'll be treated to panoramic views of the dryland forest of Kanepu`u and Lana`i City. For the more experienced rider, enjoy a private trail ride that includes the impressive terrain and the breathtaking vistas of Koele, Mahana and Paniolo trails, at a faster pace. Riders more comfortable in the saddle will be sure to enjoy the flexibility of this ride. Long pants and sport shoes are a must and jackets or sweaters are recommended for Koele's cool upcountry climate. Safety helmets will be provided for all riders. Children must be at least 9 years old and 4 feet 6 inches in height for private rides, 12 and older only please for Paniolo. Maximum weight 250 lbs.
