Hana Highway, a valley unique for having several waterfalls within
a short distance of each other.

two streams to 3 to 5 waterfalls from 10 to 40 feet high.

jump (optional) into large pools under any of the falls.
- Rope swing
from a giant banyan tree into one of the large pools.

columnar basalt alongside the falls to leap 10 to 15 feet off

If you want an adventure to write home about, this is it! Hana
is the most tropical area on Maui. You are picked up with fresh
ground coffee to sip along the way before a drive to the "back
road". You hit several different climate zones just on the
drive to this tropical hiking location. Hike under a dense tropical
canopy along a rolling streambed that ends at a waterfall pool.
This is a great trip for families and singles alike!

AND KAYAK COMBO - Not enough time? Never enough days?
Do it all --waterfalls and rain forest hike, ocean kayak and snorkel--
in one 7-hour trip. Hug West Maui’s rugged coastline as
you kayak for 2.5 hours. Snorkel off the kayak with fish and large,
green sea turtles. Then hike the one-mile “Short Waterfalls
Walk” described above. It’s a terrific day packed
with activity.
- On the
ocean: 2.5 hours kayaking along the rugged sea cliffs of West
Maui.
- Snorkel
with Hawaii's large green turtles.
- After
kayaking, we drive from ocean to rain forest for the "Short"
hike.
- Hike one
mile round trip to two waterfalls and pools where you can swim,
jump and swing back and forth on a rope attached to a giant
banyan tree.

Scene
1: The Hike: We will start your day by hiking the Nakalele coastline.
Nakalele is Maui's northernmost point and West Maui's youngest lava
flow. We will hike along breathtaking sea cliffs and erupting blowholes
into what feels like another planet. Bring plenty of film as turtles
are a common sight and the views are amazing. We may even get to
see a few whales, during the winter months. |

Scene
II: The Kayak: A short van ride following lunch places us along
the Kapalua coastline. We will have kayaks waiting in Kapalua Bay
for a casual cruise along the clear blue waters of the West Maui
Coast. Sea turtles are common sights and dolphins may visit us,
so be prepared for the unexpected!! These kayaks are the sit on
top/tandem variety, so we welcome the novice adventurers. We will
paddle and snorkel for roughly 1.5 hours. |
